The 2023 Season
The 2023 Season
Dry weather and lower river flows early in the season created challenging fishing conditions. However, brown trout and sea trout returns trickled in up to mid-summer. Several members caught some larger sea trout early on in the season before the peal started running. The rain in the last few weeks has meant the fishing has markedly improved.
Brown trout fishing has been best when the river drops back from a spate and carries a bit of colour, some rewarding days have been reported recently.
The peal are in the system now with good numbers being reported.
Two salmon have been caught, one by Bill Crumby, the other by Peter Reid.
There are still a few weeks left in the season to get out there and make the most of the great conditions.
